Eat Smart, Be Fit, Maryland - Provides information about nutrition, physical activity, and local resources.  This website is a demonstration project sponsored by USDA's Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program and the University of Maryland, College Park.  Information about planning meals, eating on a budget, staying active, raising healthy kids, managing time, and much more.  Coaches available to respond to questions.  Find local community events, directories, as well as nutrition activities and games.

Family Violence Prevention Fund

Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families (OCYF) - advances the health, safety, education, and well-being of Maryland's children and youth, with families and communities as partners.

Maryland Commission for Women - a 24-member body which works to promote the status of and conditions for women in the state.

National Aging Information Center - Sponsored by the U.S Administration on Aging, this free, government-sponsored resource offers information and materials on a wide range of topics affecting aging and the elderly.

Mobile phones, personal digital assistants, pagers and MP3 players are usually upgraded every 18 months. Current subscriber levels are at 115 million in the U.S. alone. Over 50 million old wireless handsets could be lying unused in drawers or on shelves, or worse in garbage bags in landfills in the coming year. There are myriad ways you can donate your discarded mobile phones, accessories and wireless devices that will benefit others and the environment.

The Wireless Foundation (wirelessfoundation.org) Phones are refurbished and sold or recycled. One of their programs allows businesses to participate in the Return Outreach Initiative (ROI), which can support individual company charitable initiatives. The foundation will provide coordination, collection materials, shipping and more.
