Outstanding Achievement Award

The Calvert County Commission for Women is requesting nominations for women of outstanding achievement.  Honorees will be recognized during Women’s Month in March at a County Commissioner’s Meeting and at a Luncheon in their honor.  

Criteria for selection:

1.      All nominees must be residents of Calvert County for a minimum of 5 years.

 2.      One award will be presented for outstanding achievement in each of the following categories:

·        Advocacy - Recognition for being a model of leadership, courage, tenacity and effectiveness in support of policies that have improved the condition of women in Calvert County .

·        Business Leadership - Recognition for being a model of leadership in the implementation of effective business practices which have improved the economic status of women in Calvert County .

·        Service - Recognition for being a model of leadership, energy, creativity and commitment dedicated to service that improved the quality of life for women in Calvert County .

·        Woman of Tomorrow - Recognition for leadership in Advocacy, Business or Service as described above demonstrated by a woman under 21 years of age.

 3.      Describe in one page or less:  

·        the nature of the achievement including category of nomination (Advocacy, Business Leadership, Service or Woman of Tomorrow), specific examples of how the nominee met the above criteria, and a description of any impact or benefit that resulted from the nominee's actions.

·        Provide Nominee and Nominator contact information (address and phone numbers).

Scholarship

Apply for the 2008 Friends of Calvert Women scholarship.  Application deadline is February 1, 2008.   Eligibility requirements of this scholarship are as follows: 

1.               A woman in transition and returning to school.

2.                A woman in need of financial assistance.

3.         A resident of Calvert County for the last 5 years.
